Why do we add or remove friends on Facebook?

How can we use social media sites like Facebook to our advantage? If you are an entrepreneur then social media is a great online vehicle for you to promote your brand and products. If you are an A-list celebrity, then social media is your way to market yourself to other professionals and your way to reach out to fans. If you are a simple social media user then it is your casual way of adding friends. The main positive side of social media is its ability to connect us with people from all over the world. Whether you are a professional or a simple social media user, there are moments when you are motivated to remove friends from your friends list. We all have that person on our friend’s list that we want to cut off, a person who constantly posts inappropriate rants, rude comments or start fights with their lover in social media sites like Facebook. They are basically the equivalent of a husband and wife at a screaming match with each other inside the school grounds or the parking lot.

Spam vs. Spam

Do you remember the time when a spam is just a plain luncheon meat in a can? In the earlier years of the internet a spam is nothing but a product for culinary consumption. I myself use spam for a number of dishes like sandwiches, salads and other side dish. It’s a go to canned meat when you’re doing your weekly grocery shopping. But these days, spam has turned into a whole new entity with the advent of the most powerful technological tool which is the internet.

A spam in this day and age is known as bulk unsolicited electronic mail that may come in a number of forms like advertisements, classifieds, instant messages and the likes. These will usually arrive in forms of electronic mails that often corrupt or steal information from the subject and then the spammer will eventually use the subject’s information for malicious purpose.

FAVE! Toys of the 90s

When I was about seven or eight years old I always made sure that I woke up at exactly 8:30AM for the weekend kid show that featured fun children songs, good values and awesome toy advertisements! I was always in awe when I watched those fun advertisements where the toys walked and sang with so much glee. One of the key reasons why I watched that particular show was primarily because of the adverts that were shown during its airing. That at some point I really wished I had all of those toys that were presented on the television.

Now, twenty years have passed and I still feel giddy about those toys. I especially got excited when I saw the nostalgic internet explorer 90s commercial that brought a lot of memories as I watched it. Indeed, I was a 90s kid and with that, I decided to scour the video library of Youtube to check some of favourite 90s toy advertisements. Here’s my Top Five:

Polly Pocket
This is my first compact very handy toy when I was a kid. I absolutely love how intricate the toy was despite of its size. I would sometimes bring it to school so that I can play with my classmates during break time and then sadly I’d find out that a piece of the toy is missing, that I guess is the down side to Polly Pocket.

Let's Turn the Table (February)

When we browse a video library site such as Youtube it is quiet normal to expect a number of rude comments, whether these comments are related to the video or not, people seem to be unfazed in a number of social media sites. We see a number of people disrespecting the video platform just so they can present their egotistical nonsense by commenting and offending other subscribers. These offenders are known as internet trolls. And as this trolling trend grows, the growth of misspelled, misused and abused words online grows along with it too. And because of the prevalence of these things on sites like Youtube, I opted to make this monthly list of Youtube comments to somewhat turn the table on them. Here are some:
It should be “the man has serious balls”. SMS lingo should be used in the realm of the SMS world alone.
