WILDCARD! Home Remedy for Coughs and Colds

Drink ample fluids
This is the most basic and inexpensive of home remedy that you can do when you are experiencing coughs and colds. This is the natural best way to flush out phlegm and bacteria out of your system.
Peppermint Steam
My doctor told me that when there is nasal stuffiness, it is best to inhale warm peppermint steam so as to relieve the blockage in the nasal cavity and sinus. Another comforting steam that one can do is to have a warm, steamy shower to further loosen up the nasal congestion.

Drink homemade lemon tea or juice
Lemon can actually help clear phlegm and alleviate the pain of itchy intense coughing. All you need to do is mix the natural lemon juice with honey and add it to a cup of warm water, the honey is optional but it is also beneficial.

Eat lots of Fresh Delectable Pineapple
Pineapples is a tasty tropical fruit that has high level of bromelain, folate and vitamin C. Pineapple is a good therapeutic plant which can help aid one’s intense coughing. This plant has a lot to offer to our body like it can interfere with the growth of cancerous tumors and is a natural supplement that has anti inflammatory effect.

Pepper Corn Tea
I learned about this from my mom, what she primarily did was take a couple of pieces of whole black pepper corns and she boiled it, sifted it and made me drink the whole pepper corn tea. I may not know the scientific reason why it worked for me but it did!

Try a Cinnamon Toast
Due to its antibacterial property Cinnamon can successfully relieve coughs and colds. All you would need to do is mix one tablespoon of cinnamon powder and conservatively add it over a great breakfast buttered toast.

Use Castor Oil
Castor oil is a good natural oil because it has nutrients like vitamin e, protein and has a natural antifungal & antibacterial property.  Simply rub the castor oil on your chest and continuously massage it until you feel the relief, this will help increase circulation.

You may opt to drink Alcohol
Alcohol can kill bacteria and ease the itchiness of your throat. With this home remedy you may opt for a strong brand of alcohol. You may do one smooth shot of Vodka or Whiskey.
